Super 8 Babe

HOLA! I’m Cristina Carolina, a Miami-born and Nashville-based artist and museum educator (aka I have loved old objects for a long time). So much so that I got my Masters in Fine Arts in Sculpture & Museum Studies. I have messed with every medium you can name but there’s just something no different about moving images you can’t get from a stagnant piece of art.

I first picked up a Super 8 camera in 2016 and even captured my own wedding on film but it wasn’t until recently that I began translating my visual art practice into moving images, and boy what a thrill it’s been!

With over seven years of experience in event and program management within art museums, my approach to to film is grounded in artistic storytelling, that feels naturally curated.

Commonly asked Questions

What is Super 8 film?

Super 8 is a vintage film format introduced by Kodak in the 1960s. It’s shot on real film, then developed and digitally scanned. The result is a grainy, nostalgic, and cinematic look that feels timeless.

How much footage does one roll of film capture?

Each roll of Super 8 captures about three minutes of footage. Depending on your package, multiple rolls are used to tell your story in a way that feels full and intentional.

How long will it take to receive my film or photos?

Film takes time to develop and scan (just like the old days!) You can expect your final Super 8 film within 6–12 weeks, and film photos within 3–4 weeks, depending on the project and lab turnaround times. You will receive both an edited version and the RAW footage.

Do you also shoot digital photos or video?

My focus is on analog formats: Super 8, Polaroid, and 35mm film.

What types of events do you capture?

I love documenting weddings, engagements, baby showers, birthdays, and intimate gatherings, moments filled with feeling and connection. I’m also available for creative projects, editorial shoots, and storytelling sessions.

Do you travel for shoots?

Yes! I’m based in Nashville, Tennessee, but I’m always happy to travel for a good story. Travel fees may apply depending on distance and duration.

How will I receive my film or photos?

Your Super 8 film is delivered as a high-quality digital scan you can easily download and share. Film photos are provided as digital scans and you get to keep all your Polaroids.

Can I add extra rolls of film?

Absolutely! Extra rolls or Polaroid sets can be added to any package—just let me know before or after your shoot, and I’ll customize your experience.
